Open to Gig account holders who are at least 18 years old and live where participation is lawful. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. Our employees and contractors, and accounts that are banned, suspended, paused for review, or demo accounts, are not eligible.
Turn on Spotlight participation in the app (Profile → Monthly Spotlight). It is free and you can turn it off at any time. Optionally, tag or share Gig on social media (TikTok, Instagram or Facebook). Any post you make in the hope of being selected must clearly disclose that connection, for example with #GigSpotlight.
Each calendar month is a separate period. Participants who have participation turned on during a month are considered for that month.
This is a merit-based recognition, not a lottery or game of chance; no winner is picked at random. At the end of each month our team selects at most one recipient at its sole discretion, mainly based on who tagged or shared Gig on social media during the month (reach, creativity and authenticity), and also on genuine community contribution on Gig. We may disregard activity we believe to be inauthentic, and we may choose not to select anyone in a month. A recipient may be limited to one award in any three-month period.
One award of US $100 per month (no substitution or transfer), paid within 30 days of the announcement to the peer-to-peer payment handle (Venmo, Cash App, Zelle or PayPal) the recipient provides in the app. The recipient is responsible for any taxes; we may request tax information before paying.
The recipient is notified in the app (and by push notification if enabled) and announced in the app on or around the first day of the next month. By participating you agree that, if selected, your name, profile photo and profile may be featured in the app (for example, a Spotlight badge and the Hall of Fame) without further compensation, except where prohibited by law.
We may disqualify anyone who violates these rules or our Terms of Service, or who engages in fraud or abuse, and we may modify, suspend or end the Spotlight at any time. Our decisions are final. Personal information is handled under our Privacy Policy. These rules are part of our Terms of Service (Section 4B).
